RISE: Stanley Wells Chronicles

Designing the cover for RISE: Stanley Wells Chronicles focused on creating a striking visual that captures mystery, danger, and the haunting atmosphere of the story. I wanted the design to feel bold yet simple — something that immediately draws attention while hinting at the darker themes hidden within the narrative. Through layered imagery, dramatic contrast, and symbolic composition, the cover was crafted to feel both cinematic and unsettling.

Layers:

The design begins with a deep crimson background, chosen to symbolize danger, violence, and intensity while setting the emotional tone of the story.

Layered over the background is the silhouette of an old ship, faded into shadow to create a ghostly presence. Its dark form gives the impression of something lost at sea; mysterious, looming, and unforgettable.

The ship itself was intentionally blurred and obscured to make it feel distant, almost like a memory or legend emerging from darkness.

The title typography was designed to become part of the artwork rather than simply sit on top of it. The lettering stretches outward with decorative flourishes inspired by fantasy and gothic aesthetics, giving the title an eerie elegance.

The contrast between the bright white typography and the darkened silhouette was carefully chosen to make the title stand out immediately while preserving the ominous tone of the cover.

The composition uses negative space intentionally, allowing the emptiness surrounding the ship to enhance the feeling of isolation and suspense.

Every visual element of this design was selected to establish intrigue and immerse readers in the dark atmosphere of RISE: Stanley Wells Chronicles, offering a glimpse into the mystery and danger waiting within the story.
